Nexus 6 aka Shamu to Feature Snapdragon 805 SoC


Reports and rumors about the Motorola ‘Shamu’ or the Nexus 6 have been surfacing for quiet some time now. Today, the phone has been leaked in photos which 9to5Google claims are mockups that are based on the real device.

Previous reports had stated that the Motorola Shamu will sport a 5.9 inch screen. Soon after, the phone appeared in GFX and AnTuTu benchmarks with same screen size and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 which is larger than the Moto X. As per the photo, the Motorola Shamu or the Nexus 6 has the same design as the new Moto X.

Moving on, the report also reaffirms the previous specs of the phone like a 2.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and 3200mAh battery. Finally, it looks like the Motorola Shamu will come with Android L. The report goes on saying that the phone will be announced in October and released in November.

Moto G 2nd Gen Launched at Rs. 12,999


Motorola has launched the new Moto G Dual SIM in India. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual front-facing speakers.

It has Dual SIM support, comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage with expansion slot. It comes with removable back covers and Flip covers in different covers sold separately.

The new Moto G Dual comes in black and white colors and is priced at Rs. 12999 for the 16GB version. It will go on sale on Flipkart today midnight. The Moto X and Moto 360 will be available for purchase on Flipkart later this month, says Motorola, but no word on Indian pricing yet.

Moto 360 Appears on Best Buy For $249


Motorola’s Moto 360 has made an appearance on Best Buy prior to its launch on September 4th. The leaked posting on Best Buy shows the smartwatch priced at $249.This makes the Moto 360 $50 cheaper than the $300 Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 while more expensive than the $230 LG G Watch and the $200 Galaxy Gear Live that are Android One devices. In addition to giving out the price tag, the Best Buy listing which was later taken down also revealed specifications of the smartwatch. The round dial of the Moto 360 is 1.5-inch backlit LCD touch screen with a 320 x 290 resolution display along with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The listing claims that the smartwatch sports a heart rate monitor, a pedometer and is water resistant. It describes the CPU as a “Texas Instruments Processor” without any mention of model number or clock speed. Moto 360 will support Bluetooth and be compatible with most devices running Android 4.3 or later. Finally, the specs also indicate that the Moto 360 will be equipped with “Wireless N” compatibility. Earlier this month a different leak had suggested that the watch will have a wireless charging dock.
