Maruti Suzuki India has redefined LUV for the Indian car buyer with its recently launched Ertiga. While Mahindras-owned Ssangyong Motor introduced its Actyon Sports model as a 'Leisure Utility Vehicle', Maruti Suzuki Ertiga stands for 'Life Utility Vehicle'.
India's largest carmaker has even gone ahead to promote the new car on huge billboards and adverts with the punchline "Live life with LUV".
Investors appear to have responded in kind too, with Maruti stocks having surged 9.3 per cent since the launch of Ertiga on April 12, versus a 2 per cent gain in the broader Nifty index, after analysts cited the competitive pricing for the model. Maruti Suzuki needed to find new avenues to keep its leadership position, especially considering the fact that its market share in the Indian passenger vehicles segment, which stood at 26.18 lakh units, went down to 38.44 per cent last financial year.

Maruti Suzuki has been launch his new car 'ertiga' having big space in it.I want to share some imformation related to this is that Maruti is looking at creating a niche segment of compact MUVs. The major competitors of this car are Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. The Toyota Innova is priced between Rs. 8.89 lakh and Rs. 13.58 lakh whereas the prices of Maruti Ertiga would start from Rs. 6.50 lakh to Rs. 9.40 lakh. With competitive pricing and Maruti Suzuki brand name, the new MPV Ertiga is sure to take on the likes of Toyota Innova.

I agree with the comments. This car has the edge to compete in the international scene. I would love to have this kind of car. This can be a great addition to my Toyota car. It may not be as luxurious as limo, but it looks elegant.

I think it would be a good idea for this Indian Company to export its own versions of cars. With this kind of car, I think it can penetrate the international car market. They just need to have an aggressive campaign in promoting the product. This is what my Toyota Long Island company did when it started to operate in our city.
