Google has introduced a new ad format
that enables brands to use content from their public Google+ pages and
run them any website that's on Google's ad network. Called, +Post ads,
the new ads come with social features such as ability to like and
comment.
According to Google, the new format of
ads is aimed at showing users relevant content. “+Post ads amplify your
brand’s content by easily turning Google+ posts into display ads that
run across the web. The live, social ad format allows you to go beyond
clicks to live conversations with your audience. People can join a
Hangout On Air, add a comment, follow your brand or give a +1, right
from an ad,” explains Google.
The new ad format seems to be another attempt by Google to push its social network – Google+. Since its introduction two years ago, Google has struggled
to make much impact in the social network segment. Though, Google has
forced users to adopt Google+ - integration with Gmail, YouTube and
other Google products.
