Quantenna Communications, a leading semiconductor solution provider company has developed a new next generation Wi-Fi chipset that can deliver high speed data transfer at a rate of 10 Gbps and can cover a wide range of area. This speed will be six times more than current typical Wi-Fi technology delivers and will serve as an ineffable fuel for the next generation devices. So, the company has called it as 10G Wi-Fi. Quantenna's 10G Wi-Fi chipset will be available in the year 2015. As the demand for high bandwidth has been increasing day by day due to the evolution of HD contents, the need for such technology is quite indispensable.

The new 10G Wi-Fi chipset will be equipped with 8x8 MIMO configuration and will provide universal support for Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) clients. 8X8 setup means the chip can send and receive data in eight parallel bandwidth at the same time. Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) refers to a technology which can transfer data to multiple connected devices at the same time. Apart from these innovations, it will also offer features like adaptive beamforming and channel monitoring and optimization to make it more reliable and more faster.

Quantenna was the first to provide 4x4 chipset for the 802.11n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi standards and also the first to support MU-MIMO technology. Quantenna is also well known for its supplement of hardwares to companies like AT&T, DIRECTV, Belgacom,Swisscom and Telefonia. According to a report, ASUS is using Quantenna's 802.11ac chipset to make world's fastest consumer router.


The 5Mbps, 10Mbps or even 20Mbps download speeds we see now are fast, and the 5G data speeds we have been promised down the road are even more impressive. But wait until you hear about the next big advancement in WiFi technology. WiFi is already much faster than any current-generation cellular network will ever be, of course, but the wireless standard’s limited range is a big barrier to its utility outside of homes and offices. In 2015, however, we can now look forward to WiFi that is exponentially faster than current networks and also has a much further range.
