Google on Tuesday announced that it has acquired Wildfire , which helps businesses manage their efforts on social media .
Google did not disclose the terms of the deal but a Wall Street Journal reports put the deal at $250 million, citing persons familiar with the matter. Wildfire's cofounders Victoria Ransom and Alain Chuard had launched their startup four years ago. Since then, Wildfire has built a service that helps businesses manage their efforts across numerous social websites. Wildfire provides a platform for brands to manage their pages, apps, tweets, videos, sponsorships, ads, and promotions all in one place.
