Sony has launched its entry-level smartphone Xperia tipo, which is priced at Rs 9.999. Sony Xperia Tipo runs on Google Android 4.0 (ICS) and is powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.  At Rs 9,999, the Tipo is the cheapest phone from Sony Xperia series. Sony Xperia Tipo features a 3.2-inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen along with a 3.2-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom.

"Mobile has been an integral part of the brand's growth in India and we are working together to deliver products that are relevant for Indian consumers," Sony India Managing Director Kenichiro Hibi

Sony plans to introduce six to eight devices across different price bands.
