Nokia has launched a new smartphone, Lumia 630 in India. The phone comes in two variants – Single SIM and Dual SIM. This is the first Windows Phone smartphone to feature dual SIM functionality.
On the hardware front, the phone is powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor accompanied by 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, with up to 128GB external memory support. The RAM, in our opinion, should have been increased to 1GB to ensure better performance. Nokia however claims that it is sufficient for running the new UI smoothly.
The phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera, which supports burst mode and also includes various photo editing tools. Surprisingly, it misses out on a flash and a front camera. We will tell you more about the camera in our detailed review. Also included are connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS and a 1,830mAh battery, which the company says will give 16 hours of talk time.
The Lumia 630 has been announced for $159 for the single SIM variant and $169 for dual-SIM variant. Considering the launch price of the Lumia 625, Nokia is likely to launch the new device between Rs 13,000 and Rs 15,000 in India. It will be a good deal for Windows Phone lovers, but the device will face some tough competition from Android smartphones like the Motorola Moto G, HTC Desire 310 and the Lenovo A526 among others.
