According to a report nine countries in Asia-Pacific have more than a million LinkedIn members each, including India with 24 million users, Australia has five million, China has about four million, Indonesia and the Philippines have over two million each, while Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand have more than one million users each.
The topmost industries represented on
the network include IT and services, telecom and banking and financial
services. In India, the top industries represented include IT and
services, financial services, telecom, computer software and
pharmaceuticals. “Our members represent a broad
cross-section of industries across the Asia Pacific region. In
particular, the top five industries on LinkedIn are IT & services,
telecommunications, oil & energy, banking & financial services,
and hospitality. As the region increasingly consolidates its position as
a key driver in the global economy, our aim is to help professionals
and businesses here become even more successful at what they do,” said
Hari V Krishnan, managing director, Asia Pacific and Japan at LinkedIn.
