Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has reportedly suspended the sale of Mi3 in India for an unspecified period of time.
According to the reports, the company has stopped the sale of Mi3 for the time being since the company wants to aim and focus on the launch and sale of Redmi 1s. The report was confirmed by the Chief of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain saying that in the next few weeks Mi3 won’t be available in the market since the company would be promoting Redmi 1S. Jain said that his company would “take the final call” after some weeks, once it has more visibility and data points.
Since Mi3 was made available in the Indian market through e-commerce giant Flipkart, around 90,000 units have been sold in 6 flash sales. The Redmi 1s, said to be priced at Rs 5,999, will be on sale on Flipkart from 2 pm onwards on September 2.
The sudden decision of the Chinese smartphone maker to stop the sale of Mi3 has disappointed many Indian buyers who wanted to lay their hands on it. Xiaomi could not meet the high demand for the Mi3 smartphone phone in India and the company has regretted for it. To avoid such a situation the company is ensuring that there are enough stocks of Redmi 1S.
