Google Palestine Hacked And Defaced Through A Domain Registry Attack
Google’s primary search domain for Palestine has seemingly been hacked, with the standard Google search interface for the region being replaced by a political message from its hackers.
From the information available so far, it doesn’t appear that Google’s own servers were hacked — instead, it seems that Google’s Palestinian domain was hijacked and redirected to another server altogether. How that was done, exactly, is unclear. One current theory is that Google’s top-level domain provider for the region was compromised, allowing hackers to point the domain somewhere else.
“uncle google we say hi from palestine” taunts the defaced page, “to remember you that the country in google map not called israel. its called Palestine”

has made another appearance on the web ahead of the official
announcement. An alleged press image of the smartphone reveals the
multiple colours – black, white and purple. The smartphone looks very
similar to Sony's flagship Z smartphone, except for the metallic frame
around it.
The Sony Xperia Z1 is believed to be the

relatively big 1/2.3" sensor for low-light photography. It's about 70%
bigger than most smartphone camera sensors used at the moment. And at
20.7MP resolution, the pixels will still be bigger than the ones in

greater engagement with high quality content and interesting stories
from the Pages they are connected to. With the latest update, Pages on
Facebook that are “seeing good engagement on their posts could see

Amazon India Adds Computers and Accessories Section to Online Store
Amazon’s online store for Indian customers has added a new section that will sell computers and accessories, which includes laptops, tablets, printers, storage and PC components. Like in the case of other categories, Amazon will not stock the products but will instead act as the middleman between the actual seller and the buyer, and in cases where the vendor qualifies, guarantee the transactions with its ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ promise.
A look at the ‘Computers and Accessories’ section on Amazon.in reveals that although the store has numbers, it still falls short of established Indian online retailers like Flipkart and Snapdeal.Since it launched in June, Amazon India has been quietly increasing its scope. At launch, the Amazon India marketplace sold books and blu-ray/DVDs. Now apart from the ‘Computers and Accessories’ section, it’s also selling mobiles and accessories, cameras and accessories and portable media players.

YouTube Founders Launch Mixbit to Shoot, Edit, Remix, Upload and Share Videos
YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen have finally launched the service and the corresponding iOS app (the Android version will be launched by the end of September). Mixbit incorporates features and elements from YouTube, Instagram and Vine, among others, and allows users to upload up to 256 video clips (16 seconds long) and photos and combine them to create a video. Mixbit also lets users edit the videos by placing the clips in any order possible and also importing clips (or photos) from projects created by other users.

Google Maps for Android and iOS to Show 'Relevant Ads'
Google's latest update to its Maps app on the two major platforms brings advertisements at the bottom of the screen after a user performs a search. The new feature is aimed at end users as well as businesses. The ad includes a title, ad text and a link to get directions. Users can either tap or swipe upward to get more information. Google brands this as a new click type, “Get location details” and results in a standard CPC charge.
On clicking an ad to get location details, they'll see additional
information such as the business’s address, phone number, photos,
reviews and more. Google also lets users perform a range of free actions
such as saving business information for later, sharing with friends or
start navigation. Paid clicks include the initial 'get
location details' click, get directions, click-to-call and clicks on the
ad headline. AdWords will only charge for up to two paid clicks per ad
impression. Reporting for these paid clicks can be found by segmenting
reports in your account by ‘click type.’
“ To show ads on the Google Maps app, advertisers need to add location extensions to their search campaigns or create an ad with AdWords Express. If your campaign is not showing ads on mobile devices or on Google search partners, you'll also need to change those settings,” explains Google in the post.

Flipkart Launches E-book App for iOS and Windows Phone
E-commerce giant Flipkart received a major funding of $200 million last month, and has now launched a new e-book reader and store app for iOS and Windows Phone as well as a web interface. Flipkart uses the FlipSync technology which automatically syncs the last read location, notes, highlights and bookmarks on every device when you log in to the Flipkart e-books app. The app also offers previews in the 'FlipThru' section that allows users to read 10 percent of the ebook before buying it. Interestingly the company has named these features on the same lines as Amazon.
Flipkart's new Android, Windows Phone and new web apps will allow users to purchase books from within the app. However, this feature is missing from the iOS app as Apple charges 30 percent cut on every purchase. Flipkart has also revamped its existing Android app and has added several improvements. The Flipkart e-book apps are available for free from the respective app stores.
